bkk trip june 4-10, 2007

ocean city

today last year - we're heading out to ocean city, md - some 150 miles away from home. it was our first weekend away together. we had planned for this trip long before we could sqeeze out our annual leave. we, or rather, i, started from somewhat more 'into the wild' place like a log cabin in asheville, nc.

we ended up going to ocean city because it's not too far, and i wanted more of the funnel cake. hmm.. hungry now.

the traffic was slow and what normally took us 3 hours turned out to be 4.

when we got there, the weather was amazingly cold for a late april day. we strolled along the beach and the trillion grains of sand ferociously bit us to pieces. looking back, of course it was fun. :)

we stayed at a hotel called monte carlo that until now still sends me monthly email about their promotion - or lack there of. the hotel is tiny and you can hear through 2 cm thick wall. i would woke up from my sleep thinking that somebody's opening my room door. you can never tell if someone's knocking on your door, or on your neighbor's 6 doors down the hall. one good thing though, is that they have subway as their dining facility. one afternoon when we were tired from walking in the cold, ww just got sweet onion teriyaki sub for us to share.

we ate: japanese food, funnel cake, lime juice, popcorn, crabs on the way back, the best gelatoooo, etc.
we visited: ocean city, broadwalk, annapolis on the way back, and cantler's.

we did: walk, play games at the fun park on broadwalk, buy souvenirs (world's best golfer, world's best cook, and world's best dog), take photos, and and and...

we will grow old holding hands

1 year anniversary

it's been 1 year already since the ww & ps episode has been on air.

friday, march 10, 2006.

today last year, we were probably shooting emails about how sleepy each of us was, and where to go for lunch, and dinner.

and a week from now, ww would be cooking me 2 salmon dishes, driving me home after meal, parking a bit further from the front gate, and kissing me good night :)

we were in puerto rico driving here and there and filling up the tank before heading back to holiday inn to return the 'corolla-not-hyundai' we got from dollars car rental.
not gonna mention where we ended up going that morning... or where we ate for lunch.
but we managed to get ourselves along with the bags to the airport no problemo.

anyway.. there's no celebration going on that night after we arrived home.
but we did go out to some yummmmmm restaurants during the week.

and came the 6-hour cake saturday night.

layers of dark chocolate cake and white, between them chocolate buttercream and raspberries, and whipped cream and banana, all under one roof of dark chocolate buttercream somemore, with chocolate sprinkle and 2 raspberrie. =)

don't know how i pulled this one off.. but here're the pics from that night.

new year's eve at makoto

at 9:15 pm we were seated at the sushi bar @ makoto. without hesitation we picked omakase which i think was a really good deal.
